The project Research of the perception and attitudes of the target groups and assessment of the socio-economic impact of the project LIFE ARTINA – LIFE17 NAT/HR1000594 “Seabird Conservation Network in the Adriatic” is carried out in cooperation with the Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development “Sun”, which is a partner in the project. As part of the LIFE ARTINA project, a separate research on the perception and attitudes of the project’s target groups and monitoring the socio-economic impact of its implementation will be carried out. The planned duration of the project is from 7/19/2019 to 2/15/2023, but due to problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the deadlines have been moved to 8/31/2023. The specific objectives of the project are: 1) at the beginning of the project, examine the awareness of seabirds, their importance and existing impacts on seabirds, support for the conservation of seabirds and associated protection measures, changes in behavior towards seabirds, familiarity with the LIFE ARTINA project among the target groups ( visitors, tourist board and tourist agencies, maritime police, municipality and local waste management company, children in school and kindergarten, excursion boats, hotels, restaurants, apartment owners, local community) 2) measure the effect of implemented activities aimed at bird conservation on certain target groups, their understanding of the purpose of the project and the impact of the implementation of certain project activities on them (attitudes, awareness of a certain issue, etc.). 3) describe the socio-economic impact of the implementation of the LIFE ARTINA project, i.e. investigate the socio-economic impact of the project activities on the economy and population of the project area The results of the research will be presented at the end of the project to the national and local key stakeholders of the project.
