Activities
The Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar, by establishing the Varaždin Regional Center, confirms its long-term commitment to researching and promoting the development of the northern part of Croatia, with a particular focus on social, educational, and developmental processes characteristic of the Varaždin region and the wider area of northwestern Croatia. The Varaždin region, recognized for its strong educational tradition, well-developed network of educational institutions, and high level of human capital, provides a stimulating environment for scientific research aimed at understanding and improving contemporary social and educational practices.
The Center’s work is based on an interdisciplinary approach that connects scientific research with the needs of the local community, the education system, and modern social challenges. Special emphasis is placed on research focused on the development of children and youth, learning and teaching processes, as well as the impact of digital technologies on cognitive, emotional, and social development.
The Varaždin Regional Center actively collaborates with University North and the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, as well as with primary and secondary schools in the region, where numerous studies and projects are conducted. Such cooperation enables the connection of scientific knowledge with practice and contributes to the improvement of educational policies and practices.
