On November 26, 2025, the Pilar Institute marked its 34th anniversary by presenting project activities and the results of scientific research under the theme Generations of the Future: Research on Children and Youth in Croatia.

With more than 100 employees at its headquarters in Zagreb and regional centres, the Pilar Institute is the largest and leading public institute in Croatia in the field of social sciences and humanities, including related interdisciplinary sciences.

With the pilot episode Subcultures in Croatian Society, we launched the podcast SCIENCE WITHOUT FILTER as a new form of digital content supporting our strategic goal in the implementation of the of popularising science and enhancing the Institute's public visibility.

On 23 March 2026, the Director of the Ivo Pilar Institute, prof. Zeljko Holjevac, PhD, signed a cooperation agreement on the project "Foundations of Croatian Independence" with the heads of the University of Defence and Security "Dr. Franjo Tuđman", the Croatian Institute of History and the Croatian State Archives.
