Agreement on cooperation on the project Foundations of Croatian Independence signed; Zagreb, 23/03/2026
On 23 March 2026, the Director of the Pilar Institute, Prof. Željko Holjevac, PhD, signed an agreement on scientific research project cooperation entitled “Foundations of Croatian Independence” with the leaders of the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Defence and Security University, the Croatian Institute of History and the Croatian State Archives
The aim of the project is to research archival material, prepare scientific publications, digitize and publicly present the results of the analysis of the archives of prominent individuals from modern Croatian history, primarily the archives of Bruno Bušić and Dr. Franjo Tuđman and persons associated with them.
The project is led by a Commission headed by the Rector of the Defence and Security University, Prof. Ivica Lučić, PhD, and consisting of: Josip Mihaljević, PhD, Deputy Director of the Croatian Institute of History, Ivan Hrstić, PhD, Deputy Director for Research at the Pilar Institute, and Dinko Čutura, PhD, Director of the Croatian State Archives.
