Project description
The focus of the pilot study is to investigate the contribution of new ideas, values, resources, competences and social capital of people with migration experience and to investigate how they are included and accepted in workplaces, in the public or private sphere after (re)migration to Croatia. Accordingly, the study analyzes the responses of state agencies and institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations in Croatia, to highly qualified (re)migration and temporary return. As part of the project, 33 semi-structured interviews and one focus group were conducted with young highly qualified (temporary) returnees and with digital nomads, semi-structured interviews also include professional interviews with representatives of relevant state institutions and non-governmental organizations. The team monitored and analyzed media articles and posts on social networks related to the topic of (re)migration. The ultimate goal of the project is to advance the understanding of the topic of (re)migration and to investigate what conditions need to be ensured in order for young, highly qualified people to use their potential to participate as agents of change in social transformation processes.
