Project description

The purpose of the project, through scientific cooperation with the Institute for the Culture of Vojvodina Croats, is to provide prerequisites for the sustainable development of the Croatian community based on the knowledge produced for the purpose of preserving their survival in the Republic of Serbia. The implementation of the project will enable the strengthening of the Croatian community in Vojvodina based on researched demographic predispositions as the main preconditions for their survival in the Republic of Serbia, and by simultaneously defining the socio-political and economic position of Vojvodina’s Croats, their interest-oriented integration into Serbian society will be enabled through scientifically established policy development priorities. and projects inside and outside the Republic of Serbia. The general goal of the project refers to the creation of a scientific research study and author’s scientific monograph on the current demographic and social determinants and perspectives of the sustainability and resilience of the Croatian minority community in Vojvodina. The specific objectives of the project refer to the analysis of the demographic situation and the socio-political and economic position of Croats in Vojvodina, as well as the publication, presentation and dissemination of research results. Demographic analysis of current trends and perspectives of Croats in Vojvodina will be based on relevant demographic and statistical documentation, on previous scientific knowledge as well as on objective quantitative scientific methodology applied in the field of social sciences, the field of demography. The analysis of the socio-political and economic position of Croats in Vojvodina will be based on qualitative sociological research on the application of the domestic (Serbian) and international legislative framework for ensuring minority rights in the Republic of Serbia, as well as on the analysis of development documents/reports at the local, regional, national and EU levels, which contain priority interests of minority communities (available documents, laws, policies and available literature – scientific and professional).
