Project description

This international collaboration project brought together scientists and researchers around the world to investigate the psychological determinants of attitudes and behavioral intentions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is aimed at examining determinants such as beliefs in conspiracy theories, cooperation, risk perception, social and moral identities, national identity and collective narcissism, political ideology, religiosity, self-esteem and analytical thinking. More than 250 researchers participate in the project, who during 2020 collected survey data from more than 50,000 citizens from 69 countries. In Croatia, in addition to the initial anonymous online survey conducted in 69 countries, two additional online surveys of a representative sample of citizens were conducted: one at the end of 2020 and one at the end of 2021. The main goals of the project: 1) On a representative sample of a large number of countries, to determine behaviors and behaviors related to for the COVID-19 disease pandemic, e.g. behaviors in accordance with epidemiological recommendations, support for individual measures, perceived risk of infection, etc.; 2) Determining the connection and the possibility of explaining attitudes and behavior related to the pandemic with socially relevant attitudes, personality traits and quality of life; 3) Cross-national comparisons in the investigated attitudes, behaviors and interrelationships of the investigated variables 4) Preparation and public storage of an international database that will serve as a public good for the entire scientific community.
