Silvija Mihaljević and Lana Lučić, collaborators on the DigiLitA project, at the 3rd Conference of School Psychologists; Zagreb, 19-21/02/2026
Silivija Mihaljević, mag. spec., and Lana Lučić, mag. psych., collaborators on the DigiLitA project, participated in the 3rd Conference of school psychologists entitled Horizons of Strength – School Psychologist Between Empathy and Algorithm. The conference was held from 19 to 21 February 2026 in Zagreb
In her presentation, Silvija Mihaljević tried to answer the question of how sleep, movement, reading and screens are connected. The results of the DigiLitA project show that children sleep longer on weekends, and longer sleep is associated with better sleep quality. More screen time is associated with less sleep during the workday, and more reading with more physical activity. So, sleep, movement and reading stick together as a team for children’s well-being, while screens easily “steal” minutes of sleep. Fewer screens, more sleep is a winning combination.
In the same section, Lana Lučić tried to answer the question of whether the School Readiness Test (SWT) can predict success at the end of the first grade. The results of the DigiLitA project show that the SWT subtests significantly explain vocabulary comprehension, reading comprehension and general school success – but different subtests come to the fore depending on the outcome. What does this mean in practice? The test as a whole predicts school success well, but not all parts are equally important for all outcomes – each “shines” when it comes to a certain skill.
