Marin Beroš, PhD, participated in International Professional Conference Cultural Heritage and Identity of the Istrian Region; Pula, 21-24/07/2026
From July 21 to 24, 2026, Pula hosted an International Professional Conference for preschool teachers, primary school teachers, and secondary school teachers – members of the Croatian national minority and the Croatian diaspora – organized by the Education and Teacher Training Agency, under the title Cultural Heritage and Identity of the Istrian Region
As part of the conference, which brings together teachers of the Croatian language from Croatia and abroad, Marin Beroš, PhD, Head of the Pula Regional Centre, took part in the panel discussion “The Role of the School in Preserving Cultural Heritage and National Identity,” which was held on July 22 at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković.”
Alongside him, the panel also included Ivančica Banković Mandić; PhD from Croaticum, as well as professor emeritus Nevio Šetić. Although they came from different scientific fields and held differing initial views on the issues under discussion, all three panelists ultimately agreed on the exceptional importance that dedicated and motivated teachers have in passing on cultural values to new generations of our compatriots – a thought that was met with approval from the assembled audience.
