Project description

The goal of the project is to collect and digitize Ottoman materials (documents and manuscripts), but also relevant Franciscan materials (documents, chronicles, etc.) from the Ottoman period, from the archives of the Franciscan monastery in Livno. In this way, this extremely valuable and important material for the history of the Livonia region, but also of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and for the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, would on the one hand be additionally protected, and on the other hand would become available for research and analysis. The digitization project will be carried out by two researchers, Ph.D. Nenad Moačanin and Ph.D. Vjeran Kursar, who will conduct field research, and photographer Perica Džeko. In the capacity of expert advisor, the arrival of prof. Ph.D. Michael Ursinus from Heidelberg University, to the Center for Regional Heritage and Development at the Franciscan Museum and Gallery Gorica, in Livno.
