Project description

As part of the project, the aim of the research section carried out by the Pilar Institute team was to examine the quality of the working life of police officers. Research was conducted on the working conditions and quality of jobs in the police and the role of trade unions in the institutional support and protection of police officers. The starting point for the conceptualization of the research was the analysis of the situation in the Croatian police and preliminary interviews (focus group) with MUP employees, which determined the priority problems they face in their work. A total of 202 MUP employees participated in the survey. The average age of the participants was 39 years, in the range of 19-59 years, and the average length of service in the MUP was 16 years. There were 74% men in the sample. The results were analyzed using appropriate statistical procedures and described in detail in the final report.
