Project description

The project is conceived as a combination of applied and basic research. Accordingly, it has two general, interconnected, and complementary objectives. The first objective involves collecting and analyzing international research on the effects of war on children, adapting and supplementing this knowledge to fit the local context, and transferring it to professionals working with children. The second objective is scientific in nature and focuses on examining the impact of war-related stressors on children’s psychological and physical development. In addition to contributing theoretically and methodologically to this field, achieving the second objective would also enhance existing prevention and intervention programs aimed at mitigating the negative consequences of war on children’s psychological and physical development.
