As part of the online panel Media, migration, and the politics of representation at the 2026 IMISCOE Spring Conference, Pilar’s team leader in the Horizon Europe project We-ID, Caroline Hornstein Tomić, PhD, presented the paper “Croatia’s migration transition: An analysis of current media content”

At the conference entitled Governing and Experiencing Migration in Contentious Times, held from March 16 to 18, 2026 in Liège, Belgium, 185 presentations were held in 40 panels.
Presentation made in co-authorship with collaborators on the We-ID project, Vanja Dergić, PhD, and Marko Mustapić, PhD, was based on the findings of the research on shaping the discourse on the migration transition in Croatia in 2025. The data were collected as part of the project work package WP6RedeCos Belonging to Resilient Democratic Communities, which is led and coordinated by Caroline Hornstein Tomić, PhD.

IMISCOE (International Migration Research Network) is an international research organization in the field of migration, founded in 2004. Since then, it has developed into a leading interdisciplinary network of scientists engaged in migration research. It currently brings together 71 research institutions from different countries around the world.
