MIC – VIS 2026: Presented results of research conducted within the LozaRH project; Vis, 16.-19. 9. 2026.
At the international conference Mediterranean Islands Conference – Vis, organized by the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar and the University of VERN, from September 16 to 19, 2026 on the island of Vis, the results of research carried out as part of the LozaRH project, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, were presented
The first presentation, entitled “Urban Atmosphere and Everyday Rhythms of an Island Town: The Case of Korčula”, was prepared by Sara Ursić, Andrija Mišetić and Marija Geiger Zeman. The presentation is based on research into the sensory and affective dimensions of space, and with it, an effort was made to contribute to the understanding of the island city as a space of multiple and changing atmospheres that is shaped through seasonal rhythms and the daily practices of the inhabitants.
Matea Milak and Marta Keglević presented a paper entitled “Hybrid Pathways to Participation: Offline and Online Sociality in Local Development Planning across the Mediterranean and Continental Croatia”. The research was aimed at examining the connection of offline and online social relations with citizen participation in local development planning, taking into account regional differences between continental and Mediterranean Croatia.
The third presentation, prepared by Mateo Žanić, Geran-Marko Miletić and Ivana Bendra, is entitled “The Local Present and Future from Residents’ Perspectives: The Role of Social Capital and Perceived Material Status”. The presentation discusses why different groups of residents assess the quality of life and the future of their settlements differently, highlighting the importance of the material and social resources available to the respondents.
