Mirko Petrić’s lecture on youth cultural participation; Pula, 22/04/2026
On April 22, 2026, Mirko Petrić, MA, held the lecture that examined the cultural participation of young people in Croatia in relation to trends observed in the European context. The lecture was held at the Novo Gallery in Pula. It was organised by the Association for the Development of Audio-Visual Arts Metamedij. The empirical basis for the presentation was a comprehensive study of cultural participation in nine European countries (Denmark, Finland, France, Croatia, the Netherlands, Spain, Serbia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom) conducted within the Horizon 2020 INVENT project and a study of cultural participation of students at three Croatian universities (Zadar, Split, and Dubrovnik) conducted within the NextGenderHr project. The lecture presented relevant results from these two studies in detail and discussed recommendations for cultural policies that would lead to a change in the current situation
