Anja Wertag, PhD, was a guest on the radio show and podcast Psychology HRT Radio Sljeme, where she spoke about dark personality traits and their occurrence, emphasizing the difference between personality disorders and personality traits

She specifically addressed the concept of the dark triad, which consists of the personality traits psychopathy, narcissism and Machiavellianism, explaining their characteristics. She emphasized that the expression of these traits depends on a combination of hereditary factors and environmental influences, and also touched on the question of why people with pronounced dark traits can be attractive and how to recognize them in close relationships. She clarified some stereotypes about psychopaths, their behavior and relationships, and the possibilities for change. The importance of empathy and personal awareness and setting boundaries in relationships was discussed. Finally, she highlighted some insights gained from Croatian samples and as part of the STRESS LOAD project – Longitudinal research on adolescent stress (led by Goran Milas, PhD).
