Employees of the Vukovar Regional Center participated in the conference Northern Croatia and the City of Varaždin during the Croatian War of Independence; Varaždin, 08/10/2026
Employees of the Vukovar Regional Center Dražen Živić, PhD, Sandra Cvikić, PhD, and Ivana Bendra, PhD, participated in the interdisciplinary scientific and professional conference Northern Croatia and the City of Varaždin during the Croatian War of Independence, held in Varaždin on October 8, 2026. The conference was organized by the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences, in co-organization with the Institute for Scientific Research of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Varaždin.
At the conference, they presented a paper entitled “The Croatian Danube Region during the Croatian War of Independence: Demographic Context, Losses, and the Consequences of Serbian Armed Aggression”. The paper was produced as part of the project Transformations of Local Communities in the Republic of Croatia: Global Challenges and Development Potential, funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU programme.
