On July 25, 2026, in the small Pelješac village of Žuljana, a significant scholarly monograph by Jadran Jeić Baguze, titled The Story of Žuljana (Priča o Žuljani), was presented. This work offers the first systematic researc of numerous previously unexplored topics from the village’s rich history

The presentation brought together many locals and visitors; the event was attended by the book’s reviewers and contributor Zrinka Novak,PhD. Vinicije Lupis, PhD, participated in the presentation as a reviewer, while the review written by Domagoj Vidović, PhD, was read by Antonija Prišlić, Head of the Janjina Municipality.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Bishop of Dubrovnik, Roko Glasnović; the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković; and the Head of the Ston Municipality, Vedran Antunica; the program was hosted by the renowned Dubrovnik actor Frano Mašković.

The monograph is the result of ten years of research by the author – a native of Žuljana – who drew upon numerous historical sources, archival materials, and local records to preserve stories and events that bear witness to the village’s rich past.
