Danijel Vojak, PhD, participated as a presenter at the International Conference Romani Women: Voices, Memory and Remembrance, held in Florence, Italy, from May 29 to May 31, 2026. The conference was organized by the University of Florence
On May 29, 2026, Danijel Vojak, PhD, delivered a presentation titled “Forgotten Heroines of the War: Roma Women in the Anti-Fascist Partisan Movement,” which analyzed instances of Romani women’s participation in the partisan (anti-fascist) resistance movement. This presentation was part of two research projects: GIVO – Give voice to our memories and Forgotten places of suffering of the undesirable. The Genocide against the Roma in the Independent State of Croatia: Research, Memorialization, Education (FORGOT-GENROMISC).
