On 6 May 2026, the War Commanders and Senior Officers Club, as part of the Veterans Association of the 5th Guards Brigade Sokolovi of the Croatian Army, organised a presentation in Beli Manastir of the monograph about the 5th Guards Brigade Sokolovi of the Croatian Army. At the Ethnological Heritage Centre of Baranja, the monograph was presented by, among others, Sandra Cvikić, PhD, research associate at the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences, Vukovar Regional Center

This important publication reflects the comprehensive efforts of war veterans and Croatian scholars to take a scientific approach to topics related to Croatian war history and the role the 5th Guards Brigade Sokolovi (‘Falcons’) played in the country’s liberation. Published by the Croatian Ministry of Defence, the monograph is based on extensive archival records and veterans’ testimonies, representing exemplary research on recent Croatian war history.
