Krešimir Ivanda, PhD, Mario Bara, PhD, and Rebeka Mesarić Žabčić, PhD, at the international scientific conference GeoBalcanica; Ohrid, 04-08/05/2026
During the period from 4 to 8 May 2026, Krešimir Ivanda, PhD, from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, Mario Bara, PhD, from the Catholic University of Croatia and Rebeka Mesarić Žabčić, PhD, from the Pilar Institute participated in the international conference GeoBalcanica held in Ohrid, North Macedonia, where they presented a scientific paper entitled “Spatial Distribution of Contemporary Immigration in the Republic of Croatia (2021–2025)”
Participation in the conference was extremely important for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and in addition to presenting research results, new contacts were made that represent the basis for future scientific cooperation and the development of joint projects.
The paper analyzes contemporary immigration processes in Croatia, their spatial distribution, and demographic and social changes associated with new migration movements in the period from 2021 to 2025.
The paper was written as part of the project Dynamics and Challenges of Migration, Re-emigration and Immigration in the Republic of Croatia – DinamiRH, which is funded by the NextGenerationEU program.
