Institute scientists at the scientific and professional conference Imotska krajina in the Homeland War; Imotski, 26-28/05/2026
From 26 to 28 May 2026, a major international scientific and professional conference Imotska krajina in the Homeland War – 35 years later was held in Imotski. The conference was organized by the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman” together with several higher education and scientific institutions as co-organizers, including the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences
The opening ceremony of the conference was also attended by the director of the Institute, Prof. Željko Holjevac, PhD. In the working part of the conference, Dražen Živić, PhD and Sandra Cvikić, PhD from the Pilar Institute Regional Center in Vukovar presented their joint work on the topic “Direct demographic losses (war mortality) of the Split-Dalmatia County in the Homeland War”. The research results came from the project Transformations of local communities in the Republic of Croatia. Global challenges and potentials (DinamiRH) funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU).
