Dražen Živić, PhD, at the presentation of the monograph 5th Guards Brigade of the Croatian Army Sokolovi; Našice, 10/04/2026
On 10 April 2026, another presentation of the monograph 5th Guards Brigade of the Croatian Army Sokolovi was held in the multimedia hall of the Homeland Museum in Našice, which is located in the magnificent castle of the Pejačević family
In front of a large number of veterans, families of fallen and deceased members of the Brigade, representatives of veterans’ associations and cultural institutions of the City of Našice, the Mayor of Našice and other guests and invitees, the wartime chief of the Brigade Command, Major General (retired) Živko Budimir, and Colonel (retired) Franjo Baričević, deputy wartime commander of the 2nd Infantry (“Našice”) Battalion of the Brigade, spoke about the war path of the 5th Guards Brigade, and the monograph was presented by the editor-in-chief, Brigadier General Mijo Kožić and Dražen Živić, PhD, from the Pilar Institute Regional Center in Vukovar, as an external associate of the expert team.
Dražen Živić, PhD, spoke about the multiple and far-reaching significance of such research and publishing projects in the context of preserving and promoting the truth about the creation and defense of the Croatian state and the Croatian people (in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) in the war imposed on them, which is of particular importance in today’s very complex geopolitical relations in the world.
