At the 4th KOKOSS conference Digital Age and Forms of Care in Different Contexts, held from 24 to 27 February 2026 in Šibenik, Scientist Emerita Ljiljana Kaliterna Lipovčan, PhD, presented the results of the TEEN-WELL project in her presentation entitled “Digital Wellbeing – Happiness and Life Satisfaction in the Digital Age”
Program of the 4th KOKOSS conference; Šibenik, 24-27/02/2026
The presentation specifically addressed the impacts of the development of digital technologies on the well-being of people in various life stages, from childhood, adolescence, adulthood to older age groups. The results are based on three longitudinal studies conducted at the Pilar Institute: (1) Croatian Longitudinal Research on Well-being (CRO-WELL), (2) Child Well-being in the Family Context (CHILD-WELL), and (3) Adolescent Well-being in Key Contexts (TEEN-WELL), as well as the latest findings on the advantages and disadvantages of using digital technology. Recent research shows that in order to maintain a healthy and quality “digital life”, it is necessary to devote an appropriate amount of time to both online and offline activities and to actively engage in constructive rather than risky online activities.
