The interview was conducted as part of the international research project Transforming Anxieties of Aging in Southeastern Europe: Political, Social, and Cultural Narratives of Demographic Change (https://transforming-anxieties.ios-regensburg.de).The project is being implemented at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in collaboration with partners from the Center for Southeast European Studies (University of Graz, Austria), the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care (University of Graz, Austria), the Hungarian Demographic Research Institute (Budapest), and the University “St Kliment Ohridski” (Sofia, Bulgaria).
The project investigates the processes of demographic aging in Southeast Europe, with a special emphasis on their political and social interpretations, throughout history and today. The aim of the project is to analyze existing narratives on aging using a comparative and multidisciplinary approach and to contribute to the development of more balanced and empowering perspectives on these processes.
