Workshop held as part of the project Comparative analysis of the development of the institutional framework of emmigration policy – Croatia and Slovenia from the 19th century until state independence; Zagreb, 04/02/2026
As part of the Croatian-Slovenian bilateral cooperation project Comparative analysis of the development of the institutional framework of emigration policy – Croatia and Slovenia from the 19th century until state independence, a workshop of two research teams was held on 4 February 2026 at the premises of the Pilar Institute in Zagreb
The leader of the Croatian research team is Ivan Hrstić, PhD, and he was accompanied by Marica Karakaš Obradov, PhD, and Josip Mihaljević, PhD, from the Croatian Institute of History, and Nenad Bukvić, PhD, and Tatjana Šarić from the Croatian State Archives. The head of the Slovenian team is Miha Zobec, PhD, and he was joined in the workshop by colleagues from the Institute for Slovenian Emigration and Migration, a scientific research center of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and colleagues from the University of Primorska from Kopar.
The aim of the workshop was to exchange research findings and define the framework for planned joint publications and other forms of cooperation.
