Dr. sc. Caroline Hornstein Tomić na konferenciji AUSTRIA CONNECT SEE 2025; Sarajevo, 13.-14. 5. 2025.
Dr. sc. Caroline Hornstein Tomić sudjelovala je kao panelistica na konferenciji AUSTRIA CONNECT Southeast Europe 2025 održanoj 13. svibnja u Sarajevu, Bosna i Hercegovina. Riječ je o godišnjem događanju u organizaciji ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA koje okuplja poslovne predstavnike i stručnjake iz Austrije i jugoistočne Europe radi rasprave o strateškom razvoju poslovnog sektora u zemljama regije
U sklopu panela „Radna snaga – promjena perspektive“ dr. sc. Hornstein Tomić istaknula je važnost strateškog povezivanja obrazovanja i poslovnog sektora u korist poslodavaca i mladih kako bi im se pomoglo u profesionalnoj orijentaciji i planiranju obrazovnog puta. Takvo rano usmjeravanje može također pridonijeti „brain gain“ te lakšoj reintegraciji onih koji su obrazovanje nastavili u inozemstvu u domaće tržište rada
Dan nakon konferencije AUSTRIA CONNECT dr. sc. Hornstein Tomić sudjelovala je na konferenciji „ReFocus Austria u suradnji s OeAD-om“, posvećenoj stručnom obrazovanju i borbi protiv nedostatka kvalificirane radne snage u regiji, održanoj 14. svibnja u Sarajevu. I tom je prilikom istaknula važnost učenja temeljenog na praksi kao ključnog elementa u pripremi mladih za tržište rada te predstavila program učeničkih praksi koji provodi inicijativa civilnog društva Znanje na djelu, čija je suosnivačica.

Scientific Advisor at the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar, Dr. Caroline Hornstein Tomić, participated as a panelist at the AUSTRIA CONNECT Southeast Europe 2025 conference, held on May 13 in Sarajevo. The annual event, organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, brings together business representatives and experts from Austria and South-Eastern Europe to discuss strategic developments for the business sector in the countries of the region
On the panel “Workforce – Change of Perspective”, Dr. Hornstein Tomić highlighted the importance of strategically linking education and the business sector for the benefits of both employers and young people, to guide them in their career orientation and planning their educational paths. Such early outreach would also support „brain gain“ and reintegration into the domestic labour market of those that went for their further education abroad.
The day after the AUSTRIA CONNECT conference, Dr. Hornstein Tomić also spoke at the „ReFocus Austria conference in cooperation with OeAD“, focused on vocational education and addressing the shortage of skilled workers in CESEE, in Sarajevo. Once again, she stressed the importance of practice-based learning as a key element in preparing young people for the labor market, and she presented the internship program organized by the civil society initiative „Znanje na djelu“, of which she is one of the founders.
